Child Custody Evaluation

Dr. Chambers performs selective child custody evaluations: emergency screenings, brief focused assessments, and full custody evaluations.

A custody evaluator must be appointed by the court or stipulated to by the parties. Scope is set by the appointment.


Qualification

  • California Rules of Court, Rule 5.225 — training completed under an experienced custody evaluator.
  • Family Code §3110.5 — training completed
  • Evidence Code §730 — court-appointed evaluations in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Matero, Sonoma, and Alameda Counties
  • Juvenile Dependency Court — Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Sonoma Counties

Dr. Chambers is a neuropsychologist. Where a custody matter involves a question of cognition, capacity, or claimed impairment, the evaluation can address it with standardized measures.

This practice performs evaluations only. No reunification therapy, no co-parenting counseling, no parenting coordination, no treatment.
